The WKU men's basketball game at defending national champion Louisville on Saturday, December 14 will tip at 11:00 AM (CT) and be televised on ESPN2, the American Athletic Conference announced Wednesday.
This is the second nationally-televised game that has been announced for the Hilltoppers this season, as the season opener at Wichita State on Tuesday, November 12 will be televised on ESPN2 beginning at 12:00 AM (CT), midnight Monday night going into Tuesday, as part of the 2013 ESPN Tip-Off Marathon.
Additional game times and television information for WKU's 2013-14 schedule will be announced in the coming months.
The mid-December meeting at the KFC Yum! Center will mark the sixth-straight season the Hilltoppers and the Cardinals have squared off. Louisville has won four-straight over WKU, but WKU leads the all-time series, 39-37. Louisville won the national championship last season and finished the season with a 35-5 record.
Two years ago, WKU battled fourth-ranked Louisville to the wire at the KFC Yum! Center before losing, 70-60. Last season, Louisville, ranked fifth at the time, beat the Hilltoppers in Nashville, 78-55, at the start of a new four-year cycle of games.
The two Bluegrass rivals will meet next season in Bowling Green before concluding their four-year series with another game at the KFC Yum! Center during the 2015-16 season.
