...but plenty of pickin'. Good medicine for a troubled mind.

The Ride Home with Rod and The Bobby Bones Morning Show on Power Country K93...we get you coming and going!
Enjoy the ride home from school or work by listening to K93! I promise you two things...the best country music and fun! If it is happening in Somerset and around the Lake Cumberland area...I will be talking about it. You just never know who may be dropping in on us!

I got my radio license October 2, 1981 and became the chief announcer for WSCC FM in Somerset. I worked for a couple years at WDMC FM in Richmond. I began my radio career at WSEK back in September 1985. Back then, WSEK was 96 Power Country. It later changed to 97 Power Country... years later... 97 Power Country became Power Country K93..... 93.9FM. With my broadcasting degree from Eastern Kentucky University folded and stored in an old Merle Haggard album, I had three options...get a job in radio, become a poodle groomer or draw a crazy check. Radio was a bit more fun than grooming poodles and to earn a crazy check was more honorable than "drawing" one so the journey began...and so it goes...

...I had no idea just how quickly time passes. Our daughter got her ears pierced this weekend. It feels like a week ago we were mixing formula and graduating to pull ups. Time marches on...I would simply like to slow the tempo.
...as I was getting ready for work...I noticed our daughter's latest birthday candle. I began thinking back to the day she was born...firt time she said "Daddy"...her first step...first tooth...first day of school...first book she read to me...then I could see a 1 in front of the 7...then a 2...then...I realized that time passes so quickly. I wish it had a pause button...but it doesn't. Soak up every single day...every moment.
