Tune in weekday afternoons from 3pm to 7pm for The ROD BUBBA Show! A few laughs and a dinner bucket full of great Country Music!
Enjoy the ride home from school or work by listening to K93! I promise you two things...the best country music and fun! If it is happening in Somerset and around the Lake Cumberland area...I will be talking about it. You just never know who may be dropping in on us during The ROD BUBBA Show!
I got my radio license October 2, 1981 and became the chief announcer for WSCC FM in Somerset. I worked for a couple years at WDMC FM in Richmond. I began my radio career at WSEK back in September 1985. Back then, WSEK was 96 Power Country. It later changed to 97 Power Country... years later... 97 Power Country became Power Country K93..... 93.9FM. With my broadcasting degree from Eastern Kentucky University folded and stored in an old Merle Haggard album, I had three options...get a job in radio, become a poodle groomer or draw a crazy check. Radio was a bit more fun than grooming poodles and to earn a crazy check was more honorable than "drawing" one so the journey began...and so it goes...

...mud: Family. Good friends. Guitars that stay in tune. Motorcycles that don't fall over. Cars that never need new parts. Credit cards that pay themselves. Mortgages that show PAID IN FULL. Jeans that fit. Socks that match. A patch of woods with a pond. A burrito grande. A ribeye steak meduim rare. Spicy tuna and salmon sushi. Memories. More time.
Driving around yesterday, I took a last look at all the red, orange and yellow leaves still hanging on and in there!
This Eubank Elementary School second grader introduced himself to me Sunday afternoon and I was proud to meet him and his family. Talk about a firm handshake! Great young man and someone I now call my friend!
Don't drink and drive. Don't take any wooden nickels. Look both ways before crossing the street. If you come to a fork in the road...take it.Park on a driveway and drive on a parkway.
