Tune in weekday afternoons from 3pm to 7pm for The ROD BUBBA Show! A few laughs and a dinner bucket full of great Country Music!
Enjoy the ride home from school or work by listening to K93! I promise you two things...the best country music and fun! If it is happening in Somerset and around the Lake Cumberland area...I will be talking about it. You just never know who may be dropping in on us during The ROD BUBBA Show!
I got my radio license October 2, 1981 and became the chief announcer for WSCC FM in Somerset. I worked for a couple years at WDMC FM in Richmond. I began my radio career at WSEK back in September 1985. Back then, WSEK was 96 Power Country. It later changed to 97 Power Country... years later... 97 Power Country became Power Country K93..... 93.9FM. With my broadcasting degree from Eastern Kentucky University folded and stored in an old Merle Haggard album, I had three options...get a job in radio, become a poodle groomer or draw a crazy check. Radio was a bit more fun than grooming poodles and to earn a crazy check was more honorable than "drawing" one so the journey began...and so it goes...

Our daughter and I headed out on a big adventure yesterday. With the threat of rain looming large, we took off toward town to do a bit of walking and exploring. I had never walked across the walk bridge that goes across HWY 80 so I suggested we go check it out. Our little girl and I were like kids at Kings Island! We watched traffic go by and got the big eye when we felt the bridge sway when an 18 wheeler zipped under us. We then walked the old Somerset/Sinking Creek Cemetery looking for the headstone of Dr. J.R. Campbell. Never found it but we sure had a nice talk about the 2,000 folks below us and some since 1799. The rain cut our day short but now with school out...more adventures are to come after work. I love being her Daddy!
