The December 21, 2012 date was confirmed by calculating when the Earth will be in the galactic center of the Milky Way Galaxy - in the dark rift, aligned with the central black hole we are spinning around. It doesn't matter what calendar you use to calculate - the date is what it is. Not difficult to figure out...right? I'm just trying to eat up all the food that has an expiration date of December 22, 2012. I couldn't bare to think, as the Earth exploded into melted heaps of lava and zombies were eating the brains of everyone all around...that I had allowed perfectly good food to go to waste.
