For all you "upstarts" or "high falutin" folk...there is a way to drink coffee that may shock...even offend you. Yep...back in the day when coffee was suppose to be served hot enough to bend a metal spoon...melt a plastic one, we dipped or poured coffee from the cup into the saucer. (A saucer is the small plate in your cabinet that has that little recessed circle in the center) Allowing the coffee to cool...lift the saucer to your lips...or if you want to keep your "overhauls" clean and stain-free...lean your face to the table and slurp that java juice up! Coffee actually tastes better when slurped. Coffee connoisseurs (French word meaning snobs) insist on the slurp. If you can find a diner that still serves coffee in a cup, on a saucer...with a metal spoon...give it a try. Coffee will never taste the same...and you will be the topic of discussion on Facebook. Imagine that....
